MCFL’s small but dedicated staff oversees the day-to-day business of the organization. The staff is tasked with implementing the policies enacted by the uncompensated, volunteer President, Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Patricia D. Stewart, Executive Director
Pat, a resident of Norwell, is the author of The Health Care Decision Guide for Catholics, a handbook for those seeking pro-life choices for medical treatment. A former trial lawyer, she transitioned into health care, advocating for the sanctity of life. In 2012, she joined MCFL’s coalition to convincingly defeat the assisted suicide ballot question. Today, among other tasks, she conducts workshops for chapters on medical and end-of- life issues, pending legislation and recent developments in health care. She is also an allied attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom.

Peggy Bradford, Pioneer Valley Field Coordinator
Peggy Bradford has been active in the pro-life movement – particularly in the Pioneer Valley area – for decades. Working out of the MCFL office in Ludlow, as well as in the field, Peggy works to not only educate people on various pro-life topics, but encourages them to become pro-life activists as well. Peggy is MCFL’s rose drive coordinator for the state and is responsible for shipping and accounting for all revenue raised to help keep MCFL’s doors open.
Domenico Bettinelli, Director of Community Engagement
Dom Bettinelli lives on the South Shore with his wife and five children and was formerly a leader of the Archdiocese of Boston’s groundbreaking work in new media, host of The Good Catholic Life and Calling All Catholics on 1060 Catholic Radio Boston, and editor of Catholic World Report magazine and Catholic World News online news agency. As Director of Community Engagement, Dom is responsible for building MCFL’s network of supporters and grassroots activists using social media, video, audio, newsletters, and whatever other means are available, and to help them engage in the mission of MCFL.

Maria Arias, Executive Assistant
Maria Arias was born in Bogota, Colombia. Inspired by her father, a community leader in a small town, Maria wanted to make a difference as well so she attended Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, a Catholic university, and obtained a bachelors degree in political science in 2007. After her graduation, Maria moved to the US to teach Spanish to young children from diverse backgrounds. Currently she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration at Framingham State University and working at MCFL as Executive Assistant, where she is responsible for keeping the office running and is also involved in planning special events for MCFL throughout the year.
