9 Months That Made You

Starting tonight, PBS is offering a new series about the first 9 months of our lives and what happens from conception to birth. It’s called “9 Months That Made You” and was produced by the BBC.

While we can’t expect a public broadcasting program to be explicitly pro-life and anti-abortion, from a pro-life perspective anything that highlights to a national audience the reality of the humanity of the unborn child is welcome. We encourage you to watch with a critical eye and to be prepared to share with others the beauty of life and to offer an alternative to any parts of the show that may not entirely jibe with the reality of the personhood of the unborn.

On WGBH-TV, the first episode will air tonight, Wednesday, June 29 at 10pm, with repeat airings. If you’d like a preview of the episodes and topics that will air, you can find a number of short videos at the PBS web site.

Discover the thrilling story of how you were made, from the moment of conception to the moment of birth 280 days later. This breakthrough series follows the gestation process, using state-of-the-art CGI to reveal the most exquisite biological choreography found in nature. Across three episodes we chart how 100 trillion cells come together to make each of us a unique individual. The way you smile, the environments you thrive in, the color of your eyes – everything about you depends on an elaborate dance of biology that happens hidden away in the womb, all timed to precision. But by using the latest scientific research and advances in medicine, we can now reveal this hidden world in forensic detail. Zeroing in on milestones along the road to creation – where critical events in your miraculous assembly can change your life forever.
